May I be a protector for the abandoned, a guide for those who walk,
A ship, a boat, a bridge for those who want to reach the other shore.
May I be an island for those who need to stop over,
A lamp for those who need light,
A bed for those who want to rest,
A servant to those who need to be served,
May I be the miraculous stone, the vessel of great treasure,
The magic formula, the universal remedy,
The wish-fulfilling tree, the cow with the inexhaustible udder!
Like the earth and other elements that serve a thousand uses
Countless beings, throughout infinite space,
May I be useful in a thousand ways to the beings who populate this space,
As long as they are not all freed from suffering.
